News and Events Auckland Update - October 2011
Auckland, 1 November 2011

Awesome... daylight saving is with us for a few months now !

Another relatively quiet month for Auckland, our club event for October is on the 30th Oct, a 2 ½ hour trip on the Rainforest Express train up in the Waitakere's so can’t even tell you about it before the close off date for magazine contributions need to be in !  However we are all looking forward to this trip and hope the weather is kind to us. We have 37 people coming along so an awesome response. It does make it satisfying  for us when we get good number of our members participating in club events. We actually had several more folk interested in this trip however reached maximum numbers for the train, so a bit disappointing for those that missed out.

The 'Kids In Cars' fundraiser was on the 9th Oct at the Pukekohe racetrack, we were unable to participate but some of our members kindly gave up their Sunday so am sure a great day was had by all.

We have another train trip organised for the 27th Nov, this time however it will be on a steam train on the Goldfields railway from Waihi up through the Karangahake Gorge, so for the train buffs this trip has huge recommendation.

Was great to have  Gavin and Karen Smith along at our last club meeting, they came along to see what the club was all about and meet some of our members.  They must have been reasonably impressed as they have since joined up and are now provisional members. To their amazement they won the raffle on the night of the meeting, so guess they felt they had better join :-0  (I sure hope this wasn’t the case!)
Welcome to the club and we hope you will participate and enjoy our club activities. Its really good to see despite the times we still have new members joining up all the time.

We left the last meeting buzzing a bit after discussion and feedback from Peter on the 2012 Nationals only three months away now. With the forms coming out in the last mag its time to start planning and saving for this great weekend :-0

Cheers and take care out there.
